Uzhas is a 23 year old Drum'n'Bass producer from Moscow, Russia. His tunes cover a wide range of styles from jazzy, through the deep atmospheric sounds to dark, futuristic, cutting edge tunes. At the moment Uzhas is the most perspective and well known dnb producer on the Russian drum'n'bass scene.
In 1996 Alexey started producing (it was tracker music he started with) and then quickly received critical acclaim performing his own tracks live in clubs. His first release was Nexus Phase (Grief rec 001) in 1998. But the first tune that really gave him respect and showed his skills was Ameoba, which was recently played by top local DJs like Groove, Dan, Boomer. Uzhas started playing his own tunes at DaBass, Storm Crew, BigBeat Group events. Then comes a busy time for him as he starts DJing. A few Moscow clubs can be named, like Territory, Titanik, Ptuch/Luch, Barmaley, Respublic Beefeater, Art-Garbage, Robotek, Gorod, Zeppelin. Also Uzhas is a recent guest in St.Petersburg when he played on many DaBass Sound System, Respect Family parties, and of course he never missed the annual summer open-air parties – illegal or not. The DJ sets he played were always the proof of his excellence, considering the taste for proper jungle dnb music. His debut full-length album "Connection", was released on the independent Russian label Citadel/Discocsid in 1999 and the small edition of 1000 copies sold out like hot cakes. Recently he released his 1st Vynil plate "Metro / Beyond Infinity" on Dan Jet Rec. (002) in 2000.
Now, Uzhas is focused on making high quality breaks and vibes that could nourish souls deeply.
